Mini Cyclone
In November of 2011, a mini cyclone roared through our property leaving a trail of destruction.
The following images give you some idea of the damage caused by the storm.
Most of the leaves on the 'blue bushes' were blown off.
The trunks of many trees were sand blasted by the sandy soil whipped up by the winds.
Bushes were blown over as well as trees.
Fortunately my 2 antennas at the time were left unscathed. ( The 2 element Quad and the
multiband ground plane. ) Luckily the Quad was facing side on to the winds. Our aluminium
caravan was pock marked by stones whipped up by the winds and a number of windows
were also smashed.
If you would like to read a short article about these antennas surviving the storm which was
published in the ARRL's QST March 2012 magazine, click here
